I phoned my MP’s office/team today, to ask for their help with regard to CSA and Child Benefit issues. I complained to Councillor “T” that HMRC/Child Benefit can take up to 12 weeks to process my claim. I also complained that:
- my Ex is still receiving Child Benefit (despite eldest child residing at my house since early June 2015)
- my Ex can reduce amount of maintenance he pays me, by pretending eldest child is still a dependent member of his household.
- that the newly assessed figure of £67pw CSA maintenance isn’t being backdated to when my Ex ought to have informed the CSA of his increased earnings (at least 12 months prior!)
- that HMRC/Child Benefit failed to properly investigate eldest child’s living arrangements for between July 2013 and mid-April 2014, when she lived elsewhere, but my Ex pretended she still lived in his household.
Councillor “T” will look into these issues for me, and get back to me.
