Today, I rang the CSA, as I’ve just received a new payment schedule telling me I still need to pay maintenance to my Ex. “Stacey” said I can ignore the letter, and not make any payment at the moment. The CSA will contact my Ex to confirm our eldest child has left his household. If Ex confirms this, the CSA can close the case where I’ve been the non-resident parent. However, if Ex contradicts my claim, I will need to keep making payments to my Ex.
I told “S” I’m still waiting for HMRC/Child Benefit to process my claim, & that it can take up to 12 weeks, & even longer if Ex disputes this. I confirmed I’d been awarded Child Tax Credits for eldest child.
I said I’ve already informed the CSA several times that eldest child has lived with me since early June 2015, and I mentioned that my Ex has previously been non-compliant.
