Wednesday 6th July 2016 – HMRC/Child Benefit (2nd claim) Freeze For Up To 12 Weeks

I rang HMRC/ChB today on 0300 200 3100, as they’ve suspended Child Benefit in respect of my daughter since 7th June 2016. They had asked me to send in evidence, I sent the evidence to them via Royal Mail’s Signed For service, they received it on 27th June 2016. The first woman I spoke to said I must allow up to 12 weeks for them to process the evidence from the date they received it, and she said I wouldn’t receive any more ChB payments until after they’d processed the evidence. Her Team Leader also confirmed this, as well as trotting out the underfunded/lack of staff excuse. I politely suggested to the Team Leader that if HMRC/ChB employed staff of a sufficiently high calibre, and were capable of doing their jobs properly in the first instance, they wouldn’t be perpetually working on a 12 week backlog. (Total call duration inc wait time 42 minutes).

About slowlyrotting

I am constantly having to deal with several different benefits issues. I've got Appeals and Tribunals coming out of my ears. I've lost count of the formal complaints I've had to make. I've kept paper records of most of my interactions with the DWP, HMRC etc for years, so I've literally got several hundred posts (maybe thousands) to compose for this website. I can't post them to here as quick or as often as I'd like to, for a variety of reasons. I intend to go back years, eventually. But at this rate, I don't think I'll ever get to post everything I want to. You can see from what I've put up so far that I've got a lot of crap to deal with. I'm probably not even 1% or 2% done. I am slowly rotting....................
