I usually book double appointments when I see my GP, because a single appt is never enough time to discuss everything. Very often, a double appt isn’t sufficient either. But today, only a single appt was available when I booked. I explained to my GP that I’d lost my ESA (5th claim) Tribunal last week, and that when I receive the STATEMENT OF REASONS & RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS, I’ll be appealing against that Decision. In the meantime, I’ve made a new claim for ESA (Employment & Support Allowance – 6th claim). I asked GP for a new Medical Certificate, and explained as best as I could within our time-restricted appt how losing the ESA (5th claim) appeal has triggered massive amounts of paperwork and even more stress than I was already buckling under. I explained to my GP that the criteria, which are available on-line, for issuing Med Certs for a Repeat ESA claim are:
- that a current condition has got a lot worse
- or are claiming for a new condition
I satisfy both criteria (I believe). But my GP insists she will contact the DWP/ESA for guidance/info first, so I had to leave empty-handed.
