Still reeling from the shock that the DWP have refused my ESA Claim (6th claim) 10 days before the deadline for me to submit medical evidence, I phone 0800 055 6688 to make a claim for Jobseeker’s Allowance (2nd JSA claim).
Based on what “A” at Worcester Benefit Centre said to me earlier this afternoon, that JSA staff will have to take my health issues into account, I feel bizarrely reassured (just enough to phone them at least, to make a new JSA claim).
I spoke to “M” at Rotherham Contact Centre, and began to answer her questions. But after speaking to “M” for 29 minutes, and without completing my claim for JSA, she said it looks as though I’m entitled to claim Income Support!
I was surprised! Though she didn’t explain why I am apparently entitled to claim Income Support. “M” transferred my call through to make a claim for Income Support, then I spoke to “P” at Lowestoft Contact Centre.
After asking me several questions, “P” couldn’t understand why “M” had put me through to him/Income Support. As it was almost 6pm, “P” said he would call me back tomorrow morning.
[Total “M” & “P” call duration 44 minutes]
