“Mr K” calls me from DWP’s Income Support New Claims (Handsworth Benefit Processing). He said they attempted 3 x calls to me this morning, but he’s just tried something else to get through.
Because I’m claiming Income Support as I’m a “Party to Proceedings”, the Decision Maker will be contacting the Complex Advice Team to get further advice on the condition of entitlement. As soon as the Decision Maker obtains advice from the Complex Advice Team, the Decision Maker will make a Decision. “Mr K” said it can be a few days turnaround, & it might take until the end of this week for a Decision to be made.
“Mr K” said nobody on his team was aware that being a Party to Proceedings could entitle someone to I.S.
I reminded “Mr K” that the DWP should have processed my claim by 21st Oct 2016. It’s been with the Decision Maker (Mrs K) for one and a half weeks already, why is she only seeking further advice from the Complex Advice Team now?
