This evening, “D” rang me from the DWP, from 08000 232 076, to book me an appointment for a Work-Focused interview, for my new JSA (3rd Claim). He booked me an appt for next week. I asked for a 2 hour appt, but “D” said they only do a 1 hour appt. I’m unhappy about this, because when I had to attend the Work-focused interview for my JSA (2nd claim), the Work Coach at Sutton Coldfield Jobcentre “J” didn’t have enough time to go through everything (ie health issues, or finessing the Claimant Commitment). So I’d ended up signing, as “J” had said, “….to get the ball rolling……”, & it “…….wasn’t set in stone….”.
A 2 hour appt probably wouldn’t even be long enough to chew over everything in detail, but that would be more realistic than just 1 hour.
As I haven’t yet had my Work-Focused interview for my Income Support (5th claim), I asked “D” if I could have just the one Work-focused interview, to cover both the I.S. (5th claim) and JSA (3rd claim), which would make sense. But the DWP doesn’t do “sense”.
“D” said I must ring the I.S. claim line tomorrow, to book a separate Work-Focused Interview for the I.S. (5th claim)! I told “D” that when I’d made I.S.(5th claim) on 1st March 2017, I’d specifically requested Erdington Jobcentre, as Sutton Coldfield Jobcentre’s too hot. But when I’d received the Customer Statement through the post, it listed Aston Lane/Perry Barr Jobcentre instead!
If I have to have two separate Work-Focused interviews, for I.S (5th claim) & JSA (3rd claim), I’d prefer to have the two of them lumped together, to minimise transport woes/costs.
